The Lake Cities Spirit of Christmas, designated as a nonprofit organization by the IRS
All donations are welcomed

Two new sponsors stepped up this year with major efforts at helping the Lake Cities Spirit of Christmas. Extreme Iron Corporate offices are new to the community and are ready to let it be known they are committed to the Lake Cities Spirit of Christmas by becoming our number one sponsor. Xtreme Iron, LLC was established from a contractor’s perspective stemming from years of experience in the construction industry. Xtreme’s refined and diverse team of professionals was assembled to provide their customers with flexible options to meet their specific equipment needs. Xtreme Iron possesses one of the largest heavy equipment rental fleets in the state of Texas. Their fleet is comprised of late model, low hour Caterpillar and John Deere equipment. Value, Dependability and Service are the cornerstones of Xtreme’s business model.

Storage Solution of Corinth gave us an amazing deal on a larger unit saving us more than enough to become one of the top sponsors for the Fun Run. The new managers were excited to be able to step up and help provide a new unit that will help keep our expenses down. Please check them out first if you are looking for a storage solution. They are located at 3701 FM 2181 in Corinth, TX 76210. Call them at (940) 488-4381 and thank them for their contributions.

News Release - Taste of Lake Cities December 16, 2011 The Lake Cities Spirit of Christmas is excited to change the name of the “Wrapping Party” to “Taste of Lake Cities (and Wrapping)”.
For the last 10 years the restaurants in the Lake Cities have been donating food to feed the volunteers that wrap and distribute gifts for the children in the community.
This name change is not to take away from the true purpose of the Lake Cities Spirit of Christmas, it is to further enhance what this community does for those in need.
The logo design shows Lake Lewisville as flames rising from a frying pan held by a chef. This is to represent that we are truly cooking it up around Lake Lewisville and the Lake Cities as well as, being on fire to help those in need in the community.
We are hoping to use this to further enhance the fund raising for the Lake Cities Spirit of Christmas.

The 20th Annual Fun Run/Walk set for October 22 We are looking to make this a big family event for all to participate. Run, walk or help but I guarantee breakfast will be served to all. Pet's are welcomed, but not in the bounce house, that is for the kids. New signage is planned for the course to help provide a great run. The Scouts will again sponsor the water station and we will again be looking for more sponsors for the shirts and morning activities. In coordination with The Town of Hickory Creek and the Core Property of West Lake Park on Lake Lewisville we are expecting to increase the number of runners again this year. The Fun Run is setup to encourage a Family outing and get everybody involved. While trying to raise money and awareness for the Spirit of Christmas we try and keep our entry fee low to have a high participation of children.

432 Children Helped in 2010 It was another tough year and the community stepped up again to help the children. Our goal last year was to get more of the community involved by adopting out a larger percent of children than we have done in prior years. We did it by adopting out 57% of the children. This year we are hoping to improve on the 57% and stream line the process.

Pre-Wrapping Pre-Wrapping is what we do 2 weeks before the wrapping party to make sure that all gifts and clothing are organized for the big wrap. The items purchased off the trees at Wal-Mart are sorted and verified to make sure the sizes match up with each child and the gifts are balanced for the Family. Any family or child that has not been adopted out will also need to be shopped for and organized. This is a large effort by a lot of volunteers to make sure every thing is ready for the big wrap.

Who are we We are a 100% volunteer organization taking care of underprivileged children during the holiday season. The Lake Cities Spirit of Christmas is an independent, non-profit organization qualified by the IRS. There are many ways in which you can help us provide for the children. With the help of local churches and a canned food drive at the local schools, Thanksgiving meals are provided for the families. Volunteers wrapped over 3,000 gifts (in one evening) and food for the workers was provided by many businesses throughout the community. Each child received 2 sets of clothing, underwear, socks, shoes, jacket and 2-3 gifts.
